Planning chair says affordable housing component should be looked at
The chair of the Planning Committee says he believes legislation around ‘difficult’ brownfield sites on the Isle of Man should be reviewed.
It follows a failed planning application to allow temporary parking on the former Summerland site which had been submitted by the Department of Infrastructure.

Rob Callister, who is also an Onchan MHK, claims it went against several pieces of policy including the Area Plan for the East.
He says it may be time to re-look at restrictions around hard to develop sites particularly in relation to affordable housing:
