Mary Phillips to contest election on 24 September
A second candidate has declared their intention to stand in the constituency of Ayre & Michael in the upcoming House of Keys General Election.
Mary Phillips is a Lezayre Commissioner, and also works at Sulby School as a lollipop lady and school dinner lady.
She describes health and social care as her foremost priority, saying: "I believe the system needs a comprehensive, independent audit to clearly understand where spending is going wrong and why costs continue to exceed budgets by tens of millions of pounds. With an accurate picture of the pressures and inefficiencies, we can make informed decisions, improve services, and ensure that public money is being used effectively for the benefit of patients and staff."
She also lists education and infrastructure as key areas.
The other candidate to have announced they're standing in Ayre & Michael is Paul Weatherall.
The election takes place on 24 September.
