Quilliam lecture given by Professor Andrew Lambert
The life of a legendary Manx seafarer will be celebrated next week in the south of the Island.
The sixth annual Quilliam Lecture takes place in Arbory Church on Trafalgar Day next Wednesday (October 21).
The lectures were set up to honour John Quilliam, who served as First Lieutenant alongside Lord Nelson during the Battle of Trafalgar.
Presented by British academic Professor Andrew Lambert, this year's talk will focus on Captain Quilliam's achievements after his navy service, including his career as a Member of the House of Keys.
It's also the first lecture set to take place under Arbory Church's newly-installed stained glass Quilliam Window.
