Person rescued from foot of Marine Drive cliffs
Emergency services were called out again yesterday (Tues) to help in the recovery of a person from cliffs at the foot of Marine Drive.
The incident happened shortly before midnight.
The all-weather lifeboat, Sir William Hillary, was called to the cliffs below the Toll Gate to help the Coastguard by using the lifeboat's search lights to illuminate the scene.
Two crew members then used an inflatable dinghy to get ashore and assist colleagues from the coastguard.
The casualty - who had been listed as missing earlier in the day - was taken back up the cliffs to safety by coastguard members.
