Port St Mary RNLI launch with 'good intent'
Port St Mary Lifeboat was launched last night (30 August) to aid four kayakers believed to be in difficulty.
Belfast Coastguard raised the alarm at 7.17pm after receiving reports they were in trouble at the back of Sugarloaf Rock.
Two lifeboats were launched - the kayakers were located safe and well and the call was dubbed a 'false alarm with good intent'.
Richard Leigh, the helm of the inshore lifeboat, said: "We wish to thank the passer-by for raising their concerns and if you ever see anyone in difficulty then please call 999 or 112 and ask for the coastguard."
