Award to mark his contribution to Manx life and culture
This year's Awards for Excellence took place last night (Thurs 15th)
The evening, hosted by IOM Newspapers, celebrates those who have made notable achievements in Manx life and culture.
One special award was kept secret until the night - that for lifetime achievement.
It went to Charles Guard, a member of the board of directors on Manx Radio, for his work over the years in radio, film, music and books celebrating the heritage, landscape and people which combine to make the Isle of Man a unique nation.
He also did much of his work through Culture Vannin, where he served for almost 25 years, until retiring in 2016.
