Farewell to Baldrine pub
Another iconic Island pub has called last orders for the final time.
The Liverpool Arms in Baldrine was trading normally on Sunday evening - but staff were told on Monday morning that the business was going into liquidation.
Economic conditions and a downturn in trade are among the reasons being quoted for its demise.
Nigel Dobson has been licensee there for the last 17 years.
Whilst it's the end of the line for the Liverpool Arms for now, he isn't ruling another individual taking over the pub at some stage in the future.
And though it's 'a sign of the times', Mr Dobson's loss of a long-held catering contract for Manx National Heritage earlier this year was the final straw.
