Say it feels like 'we're going to lose a friend'
A local charity is expressing its thanks for Shoprite for its support over the years, calling the retailer a 'friend'.
Isle of Play says over the past six years Shoprite has provided them with monthly vouchers to buy essential products that help keep their costs down.
In a post on social media, the children's play charity says they've 'always been able to pick up the phone or pop in and talk to someone about support for events and have enjoyed the kind of relationship you can only really have from a locally run business'.
They've shared a letter sent to them from the business, wishing them luck for the future.
They said: "Whilst we appreciate that there are cheaper options on many products at Tesco, they're still not free and come the New Year I can't help but feel we're going to lose more than a supermarket, we're going to lose a friend.
"Thanks for your Shoprite, you will be missed."
