Castletown Commissioner questions public interest in issue
The chairman of Port Erin Commissioners says local elections are the 'perfect time' to talk about combining local authorities.
Godrey Egee won the backing of fellow commissioners this week to reach out to neighbouring authorities and see if they'd investigate joining forces.
He says if the public aren't asked about these issues, local representatives won't have the mandate to progress them.
Long-time Castletown Commissioner Colin Leather says authorities should always be willing to talk about closer working, but it's not a hot topic on the doorstep:
"We think it's inhumane the way he was treated."
