Fire Services on the Island are reassuring the public that they are NOT taking part in the industrial action scheduled in England and Wales today (Fri)
Firefighters there will walk out for four-and-a-half hours tonight in a dispute over pensions and their capability to remain fit at 60.
However, Chief Fire Officer on the Island Kevin Groom says firemen on the Island are not linked to the action in any way.
Local Fire Officers addressed the need for action over pensions some time ago and have been members of the Government Unified Scheme since April last year.
