Regular IT housekeeping can lower risk
An Island firm has warned powerful cyber attacks are becoming the new norm for businesses.
It comes after a large scale ransomware attack, known as 'Petya', targeted organisations in the US and Europe on Tuesday.
The bug is based on the same technology as 'WannaCry', which crippled NHS computer systems in the UK last month.
While no Manx targets have been identified so far, staff at Douglas-based Computer Network Defence believe it is only a 'matter of time'.
Managing Director Andy Cuff says appropriate security measures can lower the risk.
