Island man Jim Crebbin named on Queen's Honours list
A local man named on the Queen's Birthday Honours List, says he is thrilled to recieve the British Empire Medal.
Jim Crebbin has been awarded the accolade for his services to Manx music and the community.
He was the Musical Director of Rushen Silver Band for almost 50 years and has been a member since it began.
He said he was surprised to hear the news.
Also on the list is Alison Gomme, who's been awarded an MBE for her services to the Isle of Man prison and probation services.
Former senior lawyer Angela Main Thompson, who lives in Colby, has received an OBE for her services to taxpayers in the UK.
