Manx Telecom and Sure say their inter-network charges aren’t the reason O2 has decided to charge more for calls to the Isle of Man.
Yesterday it emerged the UK operator would no longer include the Isle of Man in its free talktime on contracts – dismaying Manx expats who are trapped in contracts.
O2 blamed higher operator costs here, but both of the Island's mobile phone networks say the cost of terminating a UK call hasn’t risen.
Both Sure and Manx Telecom say they expect the costs to come down in the near future.
