Building being transferred to DOI
A year after it was shut to cut costs, the Lord Street police station in Douglas could be put on the open market.
Home Affairs Minister Bill Malarkey has told Tynwald the building is no longer operational and is in the process of being transferred to the Department of Infrastructure, which has responsibility for the government's property portfolio.
Mr Malarkey said he was not aware of a suggestion from Douglas North MHK David Ashford that his department had been contacted by someone expressing interest in buying the site.
Lord Street police station closed in April 2016 and is one of a number of buildings the Department of Home Affairs has deemed surplus to requirements.
