£151,000 below budget due to lockdown
Loss of car park income has been blamed in part for a rate rise in Douglas.
The council held its budget debate yesterday where it said it was a ‘significant factor’ in hiking rates by 1.6 per cent.
From April to December last year the income from Shaw’s Brow and the Bottleneck was £151,000 below budget.
It's after parking charges were suspended during the lockdown.
Another £28,000 was predicted to be lost during this circuit breaker.
