All village properties without water
Homes and businesses in Ballasalla are without tap water this evening (10 April), after a water main burst outside the village.
Manx Utilities has three teams of engineers working to repair the main, and temporary traffic lights are in operation around the site on Castletown Road from Douglas.
The burst is affecting all properties in Ballasalla. An increase in pressure in the system is thought to be the cause - resulting from a faulty pressure reduction valve at Blackboards corner.
A replacement valve has been fitted, but repairs to the main will take longer, with the work not due to be completed until 9pm.
Customers can pick up bottled water from Andy's Convenience Store in Clagh Vane until tap water is restored.
