Firefighters called out to tackle hob fire in Peel
The fire service is reminding Manx residents to make sure cooking appliances are switched off before heading to bed after being called to an incident in the west of the Island.
Firefighters were needed at Kerroo Coar in the early hours of yesterday morning after items being left on the hob left a home smokelogged.
A hand extinguisher dealt with the fire, and crews spent a short time venting the building before the occupants and their two pet dogs were able to return.
The public is being urged to always remove pans and check everything is off at the end of the day in order to prevent unnecessary damage.
