New CEO understands criticism levelled at predecessor's remote position
The new health and social care chief executive says she understands why there was criticism levelled at the fact her predecessor wasn't based on the Island.
Karen Malone took over the interim role from Kathryn Magson in January and last month secured it on a permanent basis.
Ms Magson, who was on a two-year secondment, never moved to the Island and instead worked remotely – something which was put under the spotlight in Tynwald and on social media.
Mrs Malone, who's held a number of senior positions within government departments, says she believes her understanding of the Island will make a difference:
