27-year-old pleads guilty to assault
A court's heard a Douglas man launched an attack on a 14-year-old boy, punching him and stealing his mobile phone.
Twenty-seven-year-old Craig Jack Anderson of Demesne Road appeared before Deputy High Bailiff James Brooks at Douglas courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of assault and one each of possessing drugs, destroying property, theft, and wasting police time.
Prosecution advocate Roger Kane told the hearing Anderson and another man attacked the boy in an incident on 14 August on the Terrace in Douglas.
During the attack, he punched the boy in the face and stamped on his mobile phone when it fell onto the floor.
He then took the phone before fleeing the area – he was later arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he told officers he’d hidden drugs in his rectum.
However, that wasn't true and he was charged with wasting police time.
Mr Brooks remanded him in custody and Anderson will next appear in court on 12 October.
