21 year old Joaoa Figeuiredo of Ramsey remanded in custody
A man's admitted his sexual interest in girls as young as 12 after being caught with more than 1,800 indecent images of children.
Twenty-one-year-old Joaoa Pedro Figeuiredo of Close ny Mooragh in Ramsey appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.
He's admitted six counts of possessing indecent images of children and seven counts of making them.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing the UK's National Crime Agency contacted Manx police with information earlier this year.
On 22 April, police executed a search warrant at Figeuiredo's home and found 1,846 still images - 21 of which were in the most serious category.
They also found 10 moving images, and arrested the sales assistant.
During interview, he admitted he was sexually interested in young girls and had uploaded images to share with others online.
Mrs Hughes said given the number of images, Figeuiredo would be sentenced by a deemster at a Court of General Gaol Delivery.
He was remanded in custody and will next appear on 11 September.
