Sixty-six-year-old local due in court
Police say a 66-year-old local man has been charged with an offence relating to driving on closed roads.
It follows an incident last night in which a car was driven on to the TT course and headed for half a mile against the direction of it, with the driver seemingly ignoring instructions by marshals to pull over.
The roads were closed at the time in anticipation of the planned Classic TT and Manx Grand Prix qualifying session, which the poor weather ultimately prevented from going ahead.
He was eventually forced to turn off by stewards standing in the road.
The man is due to appear in court this morning.
