41-year-old used drug to relieve pain
A Peel man who used cannabis to relieve pain has been fined after police found £1,300 worth of the drug in his home.
Forty-one-year-old Simon Robert Webb, of Fairway Links Close, appeared at Douglas Courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to possessing the class B drug on 25 October last year.
In a wardrobe, in his garage, police discovered 45 grammes of cannabis bush – when he was interviewed Webb answered no comment to all questions.
His advocate told Magistrates Webb had a long-running problem with pain in his back, and neck, and had been using the drug to self-medicate.
She said he was ashamed and embarrassed to be in court and had no previous convictions.
Webb was fined £500 and ordered to pay £125 towards prosecution costs.
