Investigation underway
It's been confirmed a man was found dead yesterday evening near the rear of the Sefton hotel.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene on Church Road Marina just after 7pm, following reports of an unresponsive person being found.
An investigation into the death is underway and officers say the next of kin are yet to be informed.
Members of the public are being asked to refrain from speculation or posting pictures on social media, which officers say would be upsetting for relatives and friends and could also impact the investigation.
All roads are open in the area apart from Back Marina Road (the entire road behind the Gaiety theatre).
