Douglas man given probation order for possession of cocaine
A Douglas man who tried to escape from police after they attempted to search him for drugs has been handed a probation order.
Daniel Corlett of Broadway ran away from officers on Lord Street in the early hours of February the first, clambering up a fire escape and hiding on the roof of a nearby property.
When the 31 year-old returned, police found a cup he'd been holding contained cocaine.
Magistrates sentenced him with costs of £125 after he admitted unlawfully possessing the Class A substance and obstructing a drug search.
