Over £5K of drugs brought to Island
Bringing more than £5,500 worth of drugs to the Island has cost a Douglas man his liberty.
Glen Batty of Castlemona Avenue has been jailed for five years - less than a fortnight after he was arrested.
The 21 year-old left the Island on March 30 and returned on the Heysham sailing on April 2 when he was arrested at the Sea Terminal after his bag was searched.
Later that day at police headquarters, he admitted possessing cocaine with intent to supply, possessing morphine sulphate tablets and production of the drugs to the Island with a street value of £5,880.
Batty appeared before Deemster Montgomerie on Friday afternoon.
