Passing yacht pulls man to safety
Emergency services had to act swiftly as a man was pulled out of Douglas harbour on Saturday night.
It's thought he jumped into the water from the Millenium Bridge.
The incident took place as the bridge was being opened just after six thirty.
Eyewitnesses described seeing a man being rescued without a life jacket.
He fell a distance of no more than four metres.
A passing yacht pulled the casualty from the water before delivering him to the pontoon to awaiting ambulance crews.
The police were also there trying to establish exactly what happened.
The coastguard and lifeboat were both placed on standby but were stood down without being called into action.
It's thought the man has jumped from the bridge whilst it was in operation.
Investigations are underway and CCTV of the area is being reviewed.
