Woman woke up to find burglar in her flat
A court’s heard a Ramsey man stole prescription medicines from a woman in Jurby.
Twenty-five-year-old Ryan Anthony David Langton of Queen’s Pier Road appeared before Deputy High Bailiff Christopher Arrowsmith at Douglas courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to one count each of burglary and possessing cannabis.
Prosecution advocate Rachael Braidwood told the court the woman was woken up by a noise inside her flat at 6am on 22 October.
Her bedroom door opened and a man shone a light around the room before fleeing when she challenged him.
Officers carried out door to door inquiries and spoke to Langton, who was in an apartment next door.
They arrested him when he aroused their suspicions and a search of his flat uncovered boxes of codeine tables in his neighbour’s name, as well as a small amount of cannabis worth £44.
Mr Arrowsmith remanded Langton in custody to appear in court for sentencing on 17 December.
