A man from Liverpool has been charged within the last hour after more than £11,000 worth of heroin was seized.
It’s believed the 39 year-old, who was arrested at the Sea Terminal last Friday, had concealed the drugs in his body.
For his own safety, he was taken to Nobles Hospital for medical treatment.
A number of packages were subsequently passed and seized by police.
Police say the drug was destined for the streets of the Island.
The man has been charged with importing a class A drug and possession with intent to supply and will appear in court on Thursday morning.
