Incident occurred after altercation outside nightclub
Throwing a man through a restaurant window has resulted in a year’s probation for a man from Douglas.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jonathan James Elliott of Tynwald Road in Willaston appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
He admitted one count of assault on Douglas Promenade on 13 September.
The court heard Elliott had been drinking in Bordello nightclub when he was unhappy over an incident involving his girlfriend.
When Elliott spotted the man involved outside, he asked if he could have a word with him.
But when the two reached Pizza Hut, Elliott turned violent and pushed the man backwards – the court heard the other man shattered a large glass window as he fell through it.
Prosecution advocate Roger Kane said Elliott answered “no comment” to all questions put to him by police officers when he was arrested.
Magistrates ordered him to spend a year on probation and pay £125 towards prosecution costs.
