Police find heroin, cannabis and cocaine
A court's heard a former drug user relapsed and began using heroin, cocaine and cannabis after a difficult time in his life.
Forty-two-year-old Liam Richard Kaighin of Empire Terrace in Douglas appeared before magistrates at Douglas courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to two charges of possessing class A drugs and one of possessing a class B substance.
Prosecution advocate Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing police went to Kaighin's home on the morning of 4 September to execute a search warrant.
Kaighin was in bed when officers entered, and tried to hide a Kinder egg capsule containing drugs in his anal cavity.
The court heard the search uncovered heroin, cannabis and cocaine with a combined street value of more than £600, which unemployed Kaighin said was for his own use.
Defence advocate Jim Travers said although Kaighin had overcome his drug problem in the past and had been drug-free for some time, he'd suffered a relapse but wished to disassociate himself from the drug scene.
Magistrates imposed £400 in fines and ordered Kaighin to pay £125 towards prosecution costs.
