Casualty suffered bleed on the brain following collision
Ramsey man who hit a pedestrian on a crossing will be sentenced next month.
Forty-two-year-old Martin Huxley of Brookhill Road appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas courthouse.
He pleaded guilty to one count of causing serious bodily harm by driving without due care and attention.
Prosecution advocate Hazel Caroon told the court Huxley was driving a Citroen Berlingo along Woodbourne Road in Douglas at around 4.30pm on 12 October.
A man who'd been studying at the Isle of Man College was crossing the road using a pedestrian crossing when Huxley hit him.
The hearing was told the man suffered a fractured eye socket, cheekbone and nose and also had a bleed on the brain which caused seizures.
When Huxley was interviewed by police, he said he hadn't seen the man and couldn't explain where he'd come from.
Mrs Hughes bailed him in the sum of £500 to next appear on 26 January.
