Technical problem forces fast craft to turn back
A 'technical problem' has forced the Manannan to return to Douglas on Sunday morning.
She left to go to Heysham just before 9.45am and was due at her destination by midday.
The vessel has instead come back to the Isle of Man, arriving at around 11.30am, and was helped back to her berth in Douglas harbour by a tug.
Manx Radio understands the Manannan is unlikely to go out again on Sunday.
An update issued by the Steam Packet at 2pm said:
Manannan has had to return to Douglas after suffering failure of one of her trim tabs this morning.
Engineers are working on this and a further update will follow in due course.
