It's estimated as many as five people are affected by one with substance dependency
A Manx charity has launched a new support group for the friends and family of people going through addiction.
Motiv8 says: "For every person with a substance dependency there are those that are directly impacted, whether that be as a parent, sibling, child, partner, friend, greater family members and more."
It hopes by providing more information, will enable those directly exposed to addiction to focus more on themselves.
Manx Radio has been speaking with Chief Executive Thea Ozenturk and Addictions Councillor Tiffany:
The workshops run at Motiv8's premises on Woodbourne Road, every Friday from 12.30pm - 1.30pm.
Two trained counsellors will be in attendance.
