Bryan Kneale receives MBE
The Manx artist behind one of the best-known sculptures on the Island was recognised in this year's New Year Honours.
Bryan Kneale RA received an MBE for services to British art.
Mr Kneale created the iconic three-legs sculpture outside Ronaldsway Airport.
Born in Douglas in 1930, he comes from a talented Manx family; his brother Nigel, was the writer behind "Quatermass", a popular science fiction character featured on BBC TV, films and in print.
Bryan Kneale has an international reputation and his works are displayed in countries across the world including Australia, Brazil and New Zealand as well as in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
He was one of several artists resident in the UK to be recognised.
