Enthusiasts share joy of sky's wonders
An unusual camping trip under the stars is promising the moon this weekend - and is a must for Manxies interested in astronomy.
The Isle of Man Astronomical Society is hosting its first ever star-gazing camp at Ballaugh - as a mjaor public outreach event.
Enthusiasts will be gathering from 4pm this afternoon (15 Sep), with a packed programme of activities, displays, lectures and demonstrations on offer right through until Sunday afternoon (17 Sept).
The society will have an array of telescopes, binoculars and astrophotography equipment on hand, to help campers get the best view possible of the Manx autumn sky - at night and in broad daylight!
The event is free and open to all, but overnight campers must book a pitch.
