Steven Quilliam was born and raised in Peel before moving to Northumberland
A Manx born GP has been awarded a BEM in the King's Birthday Honours.
Dr Steven Quilliam was born and raised in Peel before moving to Northumberland.
He's been recognised for his services to the community after he made a significant contribution to his village and deferred his own retirement amidst the Covid pandemic.
Steve says the award came as a total shock:
Also honoured this year were sports journalist John Watterson and Peel Cathedral Dean, the Very Reverend Nigel Godfrey, who both were made MBEs, while Karen Norton from Café Lingo also received a BEM.
