All patients currently waiting are being assessed,
Manx Care is apologising to patients who have experienced delays in getting thyroid treatment.
The health body says procedures can be carried out on-Island, however it requires both of their surgeons to operate together.
In April 2025, a new theatre timetable was introduced, which reflected the annual operating budget for Manx Care as outlined in their Operating Plan for 25/26.
This reduced the number of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) theatre operating sessions available.
All patients currently waiting for thyroid surgery are being assessed, at which point a decision will be made regarding the most appropriate care, which may include surgery on-Island, or referral for surgery in England.
A spokesperson for Manx Care says it sincerely apologise for the delays that patients have experienced.
Patients with any further concerns are encouraged to contact MCALS so that they can be addressed promptly.
