Member described health cuts as 'holding a gun to the head of government'
The chief executive of Manx Care says she's disappointed to hear an MHK describe its recently-announced cuts as 'holding a gun to the head of government'.
Douglas South member Claire Christian made the remarks after a number of changes to health services were announced last week.
Figures recently published by the board show it's projecting a £16.8m overspend, with reductions to elective surgery, Ramsey's Minor Injuries Unit and patient transfer among those brought in to tackle the issue.
Teresa Cope says Tynwald members were briefed on Manx Care's finances earlier in the year:
Three-month wait for state pension forecast statements
OFT to investigate possible regulation of funeral directors
"One of the Island's foremost champions of Manx heritage" to receive Tynwald Honour
No timeline yet for reinstatement of rehab service to north
