25/26 uplift part of three year agreement, says health body
Manx Care says it doesn't have the budget available to meet a funding request submitted by Hospice Isle of Man.
The health body has decided to provide the charity with a 2.2 percent uplift for the upcoming financial year, accounting for inflation and equating to £1,755,944.
It's part of a three year stepped funding plan agreed with Hospice which has been in place since 22/23.
In an open letter to Tynwald members, Hospice Chair Christopher Hall warned this uplift is significantly less than what the organisation needs to maintain core clinical services at the current and required level and risks impacting on specialist palliative and end of life care.
Hospice Isle of Man has called for £2.414 million from Manx Care.

In a statement to Manx Radio, a spokesperson for Manx Care says: 'Manx Care does not have budget available from our 25/26 settlement to fund the additional investment case submitted by Hospice IOM to Manx Care last year.
'Manx Care greatly values the work undertaken by Hospice IOM and values the relationship we have.
'We are continuing to work with Hospice IOM to understand its requirements and whether a resolution can be found within the current budgetary constraints.'
