BMA members considering updated pay offer from health body

Manx Care says it's hopeful a new pay offer for doctors will be accepted after members of the British Medical Association voted in favour of industrial action.

The union confirmed the results of the ballot yesterday (2 July), in an ongoing row over pay and conditions at the hospital.

In the statement from the BMA, however, it stated how, in the closing days of last month's ballot, Manx Care had made an offer that its members are currently considering.

We can expect news on that early next week.

Meanwhile, Manx Care says it: "Reaffirms its commitment to supporting all our colleagues and this includes upholding the right of individuals to be active members of trade unions and staff associations.

"We have been informed that BMA members are currently balloting on the updated pay offer that we sent to them on 18th June, and we remain hopeful that it will be accepted”
