Healthcare provider says Claire Christian joins at an important time for health and social care
Manx Care says it's looking forward to working with the new health minister at 'an important time for the Island's health and social care provision'.
Douglas South MHK Claire Christian's appointment to the position was announced as part of the Council of Ministers reshuffle this morning (Monday 25 November).
In a statement, the healthcare provider says it welcomes the minister, and is looking forward to working with her to develop a system the Island wants and can afford.
It also welcomes new political member Jane Poole-Wilson, and has thanked Chief Minister Alfred Cannan for filling the health minister position on an interim basis over the last six weeks.
Mr Cannan took up the role following the resignation of Lawrie Hooper, who raised concerns over the potential of health services being privatised.
Manx Care has recently cut a number of services in a bid to reduce its proposed overspent, which as of September's accounts was projected to be £15.2m.
