50 year-old recording was sung by Pamela Kerruish
A mystery behind a recently-unearthed recording has been resolved.
Last month, Culture Vannin launched an appeal to find out who sang the traditional Manx hymn Oikan ayns Bethlehem recorded at a church service in 1968.
Now, the singer has been identified.
It’s emerged Pamela Kerruish performed the piece at a candlelit carol service at the Dhoon Church in Glen Mona in December that year.
Champion of Manx language and culture Bob Carswell discovered a newspaper article from the day and it was only that which truly convinced Pamela that it was her own voice!
