Scientists hope to read a Manx cat's genetic code for the first time
Do you own a Manx cat? If so, it could be the cat to help scientists take a giant leap forward in genetics.
A group of scientists is hoping to read a Manx cat’s entire genetic code for the very first time – and have launched a £10,000 fundraising appeal to carry out the research.
Rachel Glover, the molecular biologist behind the idea, says the insights gained will help breeders and vets alike.
But whose cat will get to go down in Isle of Man history?
And to donate and find out how your cat could take part, you can visit manxcatgenome.com.
