Support promises will be honoured - CM
Much of the £973,000 donated by the Manx government for Syrian refugee aid projects wasn't available to Island charities.
It meant money could be transferred from the government's International Development Fund to a UN humanitarian relief agency.
The funds were pledged after ministers said no refugees would be housed locally, as the Island could not offer the specialist support needed by the most traumatised and vulnerable.
In the House of Keys today (28 Feb) Chief Minister Howard Quayle said the sum was taken from exisiting aid budgets, including an underspend last year and a proportion of the 2017-18 allocation.
He insisted no Manx charities involved in overseas development projects had missed out, and promises of financial support made to them would be honoured:
