Island's reputation could be damaged says Minister
Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly says he’ll investigate after complaints about taxi drivers at the airport openly bad-mouthing the Island.
The Road Transport Licensing Committee highlighted the issue in its annual report, saying it had reports some drivers at Ronaldsway were giving very poor impressions of the Island to visitors.
It said it had reported the incidents to the DED, which in the past has offered customer service and “Manx welcome” training to those in the industry.
Mr Skelly says it wouldn’t take much to do real damage to the Island’s reputation:

Warning over flare disposal after amenity site fire
Suspended sentence for 56-year-old in cannabis supply case
Owner of a block of flats fined for failing to meet fire safety regulations
Review of taxi fares extended to assess impact of Middle East conflict
