Full launch due in the new year
A new way of saving and borrowing money in the Isle of Man has quietly got up and running.
The Manx Credit Union, based on North Quay in Douglas, has begun to work with the 660 people who had expressed an interest ahead of its recent opening.
Those behind the union then plan a proper launch at the start of next year.
One of them, David Talbot, says he believes there is very much a need for this sort of financial institution in the Isle of Man:
