An initiative set up to help those with dementia has become a registered charity.
Manx Decaf runs monthly cafes where those who have dementia or memory problems, along with their relatives and carers, can meet in a relaxed setting to chat, have a drink and receive support.
The first cafe was set up in 2006 after two staff from the former Department of Health and Social Security attended a UK conference and came across the idea.
Over the past six years, two additional cafes have been set up and the movement achieved charity status in June this year.
The charity was officially launched at a packed event at the Palace Hotel yesterday (Fri)
Cafes are run at Whispers Bar in Douglas, the function room at Ramsey Town Hall and the Cherry Orchard Hotel in Port Erin.
