Follows retail giant's decision not to stock 'Fairy Bridge Tea'
A family run company - which supplies tea and coffee with a Manx twist - has told Manx Radio it’s been ‘humbled’ by the support of the Island community after Tesco refused to stock the products.
Manx Pack Ltd was supplying Shoprite with coffee roasted on the Isle of Man and a range of teas specially blended here – including the popular Fairy Bridge Tea.
However owner Paul Wagstaffe says following the announcement that Tesco was taking over the nine Shoprite stores the retailing giant told them the ‘customer opportunity was too small’.
That’s despite an initial meeting with the supermarket chain which Paul said had left them feeling optimistic.
In response Paul decided to share his plight on Facebook … and says he’s been delighted with the response:
