A Freedom of Information request shows debt peaked at £9 million earlier this month
Manx Utilities has confirmed Manx Gas has not paid all its invoices in full or on time.
A Freedom of Information request which prompted a statement from Manx Utilities shows Manx Gas requested taxpayer money from government to help pay for debts.
The statement says Manx Gas’ debt peaked at £9 million earlier this month but currently sits at £2.4million with a further £3.2 million invoiced but not yet due for payment.
Manx Utilities say Manx Gas requested extensions to their payment terms from 30 days to 90 days which was refused.
However Manx Utilities say payments from Manx Gas are continually outside of the 30 day window.
Manx Radio has contacted Manx Gas for comment.
