Further reduction from Tuesday
There’s potentially good news for Manx Gas customers from Tuesday.
Customers will see a 3.6 per cent drop in their bills, the third time the company has reduced prices this year.
Bosses say the latest cut amounts to a saving of about £20 a year for the average customer - a total saving of £61 per year when you add the previous reductions.
Under a regulatory agreement with the Office of Fair Trading, Manx Gas is required to cap its profits at 10 per cent per year.
It comes on the back of a controversial increase in standing charges last year, which left many customers worse off.
An investigation by the BBC in February found Island gas consumers were paying up to twice as much as their UK counterparts.
